Ove Kindvall- The Statue

Elo Liiv is an acclaimed sculptor and artist from Estonia and has created many works in public spaces.

She now takes her place in Norrköping’s urban environment with her statue of Ove Kindvall.

Ove Kindvall is Elo Liiv’s second statue of an athlete.

“I made a statue of Heino Kurvet, who was a prominent canoeist from Estonia,” says Elo Liiv.
The statue of Kurvet, who won a World Championship bronze in 1971 in Belgrade, was unveiled on October 31, 2022, and stands in front of the clubhouse in Pärnu. It was there, by his beloved river, that he built his career.

Just like Ove Kindvall at the stadium along Södra Promenaden.

Elo Liiv, born in Tallinn in 1971, grew up in the Estonian capital and was early on inspired by the city’s rich culture and beautiful landscapes. She has received recognition for her unique style and her ability to deeply move the viewer, with a focus on detail and emotion in her works.

She has undoubtedly managed to capture the elegance and feeling of Ove Kindvall.

Elo Liiv is also an active part of Tallinn’s art scene, frequently engaging in various projects and collaborations to promote contemporary art. Through her works and passion for art, she contributes to shaping the cultural landscape in Estonia and beyond.

Here, at Södra Promenaden, she has created a new meeting place for IFK Norrköping and its supporters.

“See you at Ove” is a new phrase here and now.
